Cosmo-Sport announced today the newest addition to it's lineup of exclusive driver development programs, the Data Acquisition Workshop.

Featuring the use of GPS Data Acquisition technology, Cosmo-Sport now offers the most intense driver development program in the country. The one-day program is an extension of Cosmo-Sport's unique, limited-attendance Trackday Elite track event format where drivers can get on track in their own sports cars and recieve personalized, one-on-one driving instruction from a lineup of some of the nation's most accomplished professional racing drivers.

The new Data Workshop program takes this personalized learning format one step further, giving each participant an assigned pro racing instructor for the day while installing a Traqmate GPS Data Acquisition System in their cars for the ultimate learning experience. The small and portable Traqmate is a vehicle data acquisition device that uses a high-speed GPS receiver and high resolution accelerometers to track and record the speed of a vehicle, its absolute location, and forces acting on the vehicle.  The computer software used to analyze the driver and vehicle data uses advanced mathematical algorithms to translate this data into visual form where it is easy to spot differences between drivers, vehicles, and sessions.

Participants in the Cosmo-Sport Data Workshop will be able to record, analyze and compare thier driving technique from one session to another.  The recorded data breaks down and visually displays every step of the driving process - braking points, turning points, driving line and palcement on track, G-Forces, accelleration points and speed.  After reviewing the data and discussing new techniques and theories with their instructor, they are then given very specific tasks to work on for thier next run on track.  Most importantly, the driving instructor can then drive a few laps in the clients car, while the client rides passenger as in the typical Cosmo-Sport format, and collect his data to compare directly against the participants.

Never before have trackday enthusiasts, club racers and other drivers been able to compare thier driving data directly against those of current professional race drivers - until now.
